“And, when you want something, the whole universe conspires in helping you to achieve it. “ – Melchizedek in The Alchemist.

After completing a book I thought would be just another English reading practice, it turned out to be one of the biggest life lessons I’ve ever had. This line suggests that when we truly want something, everything around us somehow seems to support our goal. At first, it may sound unrealistic. The universe does not move the stars or the moon to help someone achieve their dreams. However, this line shows the impressive effect of belief and determination can have on one’s life.

This quote appeared quite often in the book, and it shows how powerful words can be. A few simple sentences can inspire people, comfort them, or completely change the way they see themselves. Although words may seem small, their impact can last for a very long time.

When someone strongly believes in a goal, their mindset shifts. They begin to notice opportunities that they might have ignored before. They work harder, take more risks, and remain optimistic even when things don’t turn out the way they want them to. Because of this change in perspective, it can feel as if the world is helping them move forward. In reality, it is their determination that is guiding them toward the correct paths.

I believe this is a good example of how powerful words can be because this quote inspires courage. Many people stop pursuing their dreams because when they start to feel that the process is difficult, they stop believing in themselves and everything around them. They will start to be afraid of failure or rejection. This quote reminds us that dreams are worth chasing. Even if success is not guaranteed, believing in a goal gives people the motivation to try.

This quote also reflects something visible about human behaviour. When people are passionate about something, they unintentionally attract support from others. Teachers, friends, mentors, and even strangers may notice their effort and offer help. This is the way the universe is ‘conspiring’ in our favour, when in reality, it is our dedication that is inspiring everything around us.

At the end, the power of these words can ‘transform’ someone. A simple sentence like this from a book can encourage someone to believe in themselves and keep going despite difficulties. Words like these remind us that dreams often begin with belief, and belief can shape actions that lead to success.
